IFC – This black and white photograph was taken in 2005. I am told that since then, another IFC has been built but for a time this was the tallest building in Hong Kong.
Venice is built on a series of piles driven into the lagoon. This shot was taken just off St Mark’s Square looking across the water.
When I was younger I remember reading On The Road by Jack Kerouac and always imagined what Times Square was like. Originally the square was known as Longacre Square but was renamed after the New York Times moved into the square in 1904.
The statue of libery was gift to the people of America from the people of France. The statue is made of copper and this explains the green appearance. As the copper oxidises over time, it turns green.
