venice1
Venice must count as one of the world's most beautiful cities. Made up of 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy, the city is full of tight canal waterways and hidden secrets. This gallery contains photographs of The Doge's Palace (a gothic palace on St Mark's square also known as Palazzo Ducale di Venezia.) The Campanile, The Bridge of Sighs and other shots from around the city. -
venice2
Venice is full of tight canal waterways and hidden secrets. The pictures in this gallery were mainly taken very early in the morning before the hordes of tourists arrived. The Doge's Palace is a gothic palace on St Mark's square. In Italian it is called the Palazzo Ducale di Venezia. The palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice. Saint Mark's Basilica (Italian: Basilica di San Marco a Venezia), the cathedral of Venice, is the most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. The Bridge of Sighs is one of many bridges in Venice but perhaps one of the most famous. -
animal
The pictures in this gallery highlight the physical form. Whether human or animal, physical attributes and their relationship with one another was the thinking behind many of the pictures showcased here. -
architecture
To my mind, there isn't one form of architecture that truly fulfills me. This gallery reflects that idea. From the post modern Bullring at Birmingham to Sir Christopher Wren's St Paul's Cathedral, man's ability to work with different materials under different circumstances across the ages leaves me awestruck. -
barbados
Barbados is a beautiful. This gallery aims to capture that beauty by photographing key features of the island. Codrington College, Needham Point, Gun Hill, Crane Beach and Bridgetown. These photographs were taken in 2009. -
barbados2
Barbados is a beautiful paradise island at the bottom of the Caribbean archipelago. Calm waters of the Caribbean Sea lap the West of the island in contrast to Atlantic Ocean ravaged East. Codrington College can be found towards the East coast. A place that is still used to train ministers, its setting could not be more idyllic. -
barcelona-madrid
One cannot talk about Barcelona without Antoni Gaudi. The city is a testament to his work. Images showcased here attempt to pay homage to his unique architectural brilliance. La Sagrada Familia - the great cathedral probably remains one of my personal favourite pieces of late 19th-20th century architecture. Madrid has a completely different feel for me. The archway series of photographs featured here were taken outside of Madrid at Aranjuez royal palace. The serenity and calmness of this stunning palace is overwhelming. -
flora
As the title of the gallery suggests. There is not a great deal to say except to maybe explain that this gallery is a bit of a work in progress. I don't often takes pictures of flowers and so am slowly adding pictures to this gallery. -
galleryone
This gallery allows me the opportunity to showcase some colour images. From time to time, I shoot colour but if the truth be told am not always happy with the results. These images are perhaps the exception. Many of the images shown here were taken when exploring particular themes. -

hong-kong-in-color
Hong Kong. My favourite city. Vibrant, noisy, hectic and loud. I have been fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time here. There is a subtler side to Hong Kong that perhaps escapes the average tourist. This colour gallery attempts to capture some of Hong Kong's vibrancy and lustre in print. -
hongkongchina
Hong Kong is fascinating to me. Its history, its people, its architecture - both old and new, its location. This gallery attempts to show the subtler side to HK. The images shown here hopefully will strike a chord with anyone who has every spent any time living in the city. -
istanbul
Istanbul. This city straddles the Bosphorus. A gateway between East and West. The history of this city is all around you. The Hagia Sophia, designed by Isidorus and Anthemius, for example has been a church and a mosque over the centuries and is still used today. The aqueduct of Valens was built by the Romans to carry water into the centre of Constantinople. Haydarpasa train station stands on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. From here, trains continue to run to all manner of exotic places including Baghdad. -
italytuscany
Lucca is an old city in the heart of Tuscany. It was founded by the Etruscans and became a Roman colony in 180 BC. The rectangular grid of its historical center preserves the Roman street plan, and the Piazza San Michele occupies the site of the ancient forum. Traces of the amphitheatre can still be seen in the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. -
landscapes
Landscapes from Saddleworth to the Antrim Coast, Northern Ireland. This gallery showcases the serenity and beauty of the lay of the land. This gallery is very much a work in progress with images been added periodically -

londoncontinued
Samuel Johnson once said "Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford" The city is vast and images here cannot do justice to the size of scale of England's capital city. The images showcased include St Paul's Cathedral, The Tate Modern, The Palace at Westminster as well as a little homage to the great Freddie Mercury - his house that is. -
londonthecity
The main bulk of this gallery showcases prints taken around the City - the financial heart of London. The Gherkin - a stunning architectural triumph was designed by Mancunian born Sir Norman Foster. The Lloyds building is a design that repulses and captivates all at once - beautiful and ugly. -
manchester
Manchester is unique. A northern city that didn't really exist before the industrial revolution, its famous musical sons include Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, The Happy Mondays and New Order. It was place where Rutherford first split the atom and the birthplace of the first modern computer. It is also my home town. -
marrakesh
Marrakesh is a tale of two cities. Within the old city walls, the place remains pretty much untouched by the pace of modern life. When the French arrived, they designed huge boulevards outside the gates. Out here, one could be mistaken for thinking this is a Western city. This gallery for the most part focuses on life inside the city walls as well some images taken in the Atlas mountains. -
moroccostreet
This gallery showcases street photographs taken in Morocco, 2007. Many of the photographs shown here were taken in Marrakesh, in the old town around Djemaa El Fna and the derbs. The laid back feel of the citizens of Marrakesh - both young and old - was something that struck me -
newyork
New York. Photographs shown here include images from Central Park, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan and more. -

paris
Paris. The most visited city on the planet. These images were taken in the winter of 2008. Known as the city of light, everywhere you look, there is a photographic opportunity screaming out. -
parisglimpses
The city of Paris must rank as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. From every angle, it is a photographer's dream -
parismoments
Images taken in Paris in the Winter of 2008. This city is truly beautiful. -
parismontmartre
The images from Paris were taken in Winter of 2008. Montmartre is famous for a number of reasons, not least the old haunt of Renoir and Lautrec. Today, the artists are still there even if the square is a little bit more packed with tourists. This gallery includes shots from the Pompidou centre also. -
riodejaneiro
In Rio, I must admit I felt uneasy walking about with a big camera. Probably with good reason. Crime in Rio is high. But this city is breathtaking in its natural beauty. From Corcovado to Ipanema, the city affords some of the best views anywhere on the plant. -
singapore
In 1819, Sir Stanford Raffles landed on the Southern tip of the Malay Peninsula and established a free-trade post. This effectively was the birth of Singapore. Today, the city is a major world destination. The images in this gallery aim to reflect the many differences of this Asian metropolis.
