Venice is a beautiful city. Set on a lagoon on the edge of the Adriatic Sea, it is one of the world's most photographic and beautiful places. In this gallery, you will find black and white photographs that I hope help to capture the full majesty of Venice's beauty. Below you will find photographs of the Doge's Palace. This beautiful 14th Century constructed palace sits on the entrance to St Mark's Square. Once more, I have tried to capture the essence and beauty of this place. In order to do this, I ventured out onto the square at 5 a.m in the morning. Even at this early time, I wasn't surprised to see other photographers with the same idea. This is the second gallery of Venice on this site and contains more pictures from this beautiful Italian city. My favourite shots are the ones showing the Gondoliers. The first shows them on dry land having completed their shifts. The second shot shows a Gondolier waiting for a fare. Lastly, this gallery showcases the Campanile which stands proudly above St Mark's Square and Basilica.
Every photographer likes to play around with their subject matter and I am no different. In this gallery, I have tried to include studies of both human and animal forms. The use of shadows and light are important in highlighting the nuances of the human being. Relaxation and serenity are the main themes in this gallery
Architecture is an art form in itself and this gallery attempts to pay homage to those styles of architecture to which I am most drawn. In particular, I love the Victorian era and am always amazed at the sheer beauty, ambition and legacy these people left behind. To this end, I have photographs here of the Forth Rail Bridge, Scotland, The Ribblehead Viaduct and Settle Railway Station. Further, you will find photographs as well from Oxford University - including many colleges and the famous Bodleian library, York Minister, Blenheim Palace, Dublin's Georgian Architecture and Cork also
What is there not to like about this fabulous island in the Caribbean? Barbados is a tropical paradise. In this gallery you will find black and white photographs that attempt to make sense of this West Indian idyll. Bathsheba Beach, is a stunning location off the beaten track with waves racing in from the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, there are photographs from Oistins Fish fair, Garrison Savannah, Crane Beach, Needham Point, Gun Hill and Bridgetown itself.
This second gallery of Barbados photographs aims to capture the laid back life of the island. The images shown here showcase Bridgetown, Bathsheba beach to the East of the island and the Beautiful Codrington College - possibly one of my favourite places to visit ever. The views across the ocean and the serenity of this place are breathtaking.
La Familia Sagrada - possibly the most famous of Antoni Gaudi's works towers above the city of Barcelona in the Catalonian capital of Spain and Aranjuez - an old Royal palace about 40 miles from Madrid are two of the subjects of the photographs shown here.

Hong Kong is a vibrant, exciting city that spans 240+ islands. The name Hong Kong means Fragrant Harbour and the photographs here are based around Victoria and Kowloon. I have tried to capture the speed and energy of modern Hong Kong in this gallery. Pictures include Junks at Stanley, The Peak, The Star Ferry and Hong Kong at night.
Istanbul, Turkey - where East and West meet. The Bosphorus straight is said to split two continents. Photos in this gallery include the world famous Blue Mosque, The Haghia Sophia, Valens Aqueduct and the Dolmabahce Palace.

More Black and White Photographs taken in London in 2007. In particular, I like the photos of the detail of the Lloyd's Building. This architectural design caused quite a stir when it was first unveiled but I can't help but marvel at this beautiful and iconic building.
Manchester is my home town. A relatively new city, it wasn't until the industrial age that significant numbers of people began to live in the city. Famous for its football teams, the poor weather and its musical influence, I have tried to capture the city and its proud industrial heritage. Black and White Photographs shown include the Central Library, Jabez Clegg, The Beetham Tower, The Palace Hotel, Manchester Town Hall, The Free Trade Hall and the University.
Marrakesh, Morocco. These images were taken in 2007 and showcase the old and the new of Marrakesh. The Djemaa El Fna or Square of the Dead is the heart of the old city. Not far from here is La Koutoubia Minaret. Other images include photographs from the Atlas Mountains - a short car ride from the city and the Ben Youssef Medersa.

Rio De Janeiro is a sprawling city (6th largest in South America) that intrigues and delights in equal measure. Highlights include the view from the Statue of Christ The Redeemer - probably one of the world's most spectacular, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and the Copacabana Palace Hotel. The images you see in this gallery were taken in 2005.
